NEW: Concept art for the film OBLIVION.
I will have work appearing in Spectrum 21 including two pieces done for Wizards of the Coast in 2013.
A Q&A with CGChannel.com : a brief discussion about my background and concept design in general.
I will be at the Gnomon School of Visual Effects on Feb. 22 teaching a Weekend Workshop on Architectural Concept Design.
I'm excited to be a part of D&D Next, the Dungeons and Dragons RPG, 5th Edition, a 2014 release from Wizards of the Coast.
Joseph Kosinski's OBLIVION hits US theaters today. For the full 4K experience be sure to see it in IMAX. It was an enormous pleasure working with production designer Darren Gilford and an incredibly talented art department to realize Joe's vision for the world, architecture and machines of Oblivion.
I'm fortunate to have three pieces included in the upcoming Spectrum 20 including Gethen Rising, a piece I contributed last year to ImagineFX Magazine (No. 86).
My cover for Michael Swanwick's Stations of the Tide was selected for Spectrum 19 along with Shiva, a piece I contributed to Scott Robertson's BLAST. Spectrum 19 is available NOW.
Pick up the Pulp Art Issue of ImagineFX (No. 86) to see a 4-page workshop and video material on the construction process for Gethen.
I have new work in BLAST: Spaceship Sketches and Renderings the latest Design Studio Press opus featuring the work of Scott Robertson, Annis Naeem and Danny Gardner. It was great fun to jam on a project with few design limitations and a solid crew. I seized the opportunity to do some genre mashups, one of which was selected for Spectrum 19.
iO9.com and Space.com are covering my retro-future take on the Playboy Club in Space. The work ran as a 6-page feature in the March 2012 issue of Playboy. Playboy teamed up with Virgin Galactic's lead designer to envision an orbiting entertainment venue of out-of-this-world design. A big thanks to Cody Tilson for excellent Art Direction and design.
I bid farewell this Summer to my friends at Id Software. Last week I concluded three years of visual development for the next installment of Doom. I leave the environment design helm of Doom to the talented artists at Id and head back to Pacific waters for new adventures.
My cover for the reprint of Michael Swanwick's Nebula award winning Stations of the Tide appears at BSCreview. The book will be on shelves February '11.
